Notice of Candidate Eligibility Requirements and Filing Information
General Election – May 2, 2026
In accordance with Section 141.040 of the Texas Election Code, the City of Holland hereby posts the eligibility requirements and filing information for candidates seeking election to municipal office in the upcoming General Election.
Offices to be Elected
-Mayor (2-year Term)
-Council Member Seat 2 (2-year Term)
-Council Member Seat 4 (2-year Term)
Candidate Eligibility Requirements
- Be a United States citizen.
- Be at least 18 years of age on the first day of the term to be elected.
- Have not been determined mentally incapacitated by a final judgment.
- Have not been convicted of a felony (unless pardoned or otherwise released from resulting disabilities).
- Have resided continuously in the State of Texas for 12 months and in the city for 6 months preceding the filing deadline.
- Be registered to vote in the territory from which the office is elected.
First Day to File: Wednesday, January 14, 2026
Last Day to File: Friday, February 13, 2026 at 5:00 p.m.
